The Autumn Equinox, also known on the witch’s calendar as Mabon, is the celebration of the second harvest, the astronomical start of the fall season, and a time where the hours of light and dark are equal. The weather is the perfect balance between warm and cool, highlighting the theme of balance. Farmers are gathering their crops and storing them for the winter. The leaves are beginning to shift in color and fall from the tress. Warm-weather animals prepare for hibernation and migration. And meanwhile, the witches get ready to start amping up the magick.
We're all familiar with the Mercury Retrograde panic that happens a couple of time of year, and I'm sure we're all used to the broken technology and communication issues. We get it. But one thing most of the media is silent about, is when the other planets go retrograde. Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto, and Uranus tend to go retrograde for a few months each year. Their rotations and orbits are slower than the more personal planets' Mars, Venus, & Mercury so this is usual business for them.
And because of their relative distance, these planets affect our lives in broader ways.
Jupiter is Retrograde in Sagittarius as of April 11th, 2019 and will remain that way until five months later on August 11th, 2019. Later in this month, Saturn and Pluto will monkey-see monkey-do and go retrograde as well. And luckily, this is a perfect time for you to work your magick!
It's that time again: another New Moon!! This one is in Pisces exact on March 6, 2019 12:06 EST. This one is personal for me (my own natal moon is in Pisces) but is also triggering a kind of fog over all of our eyes. Contrary to how many witches will say new moons are for manifesting, I find that the dark side of the moon asks us to return to ourselves before making any hasty actions.
This New Moon is no different. Pisces is the dreamiest sign in the zodiac. She wants things that the other signs can't even imagine, she sees things that no other sign can see, she can create things that seem impossible to envision.
So when the New Moon rests in her sign, I take this as a time to focus on & sit with what it is we see. What visions are we receiving in those small moments between everyday activities? What dreams are we having that just won't leave us alone? What would you begin to plan and manifest if the heavens were the limit? How many things have to come together in life for you to notice things are in no way coincidence? These are the questions that posed themselves when I sat on this New Moon.
This energy is great for manifesting, expressing gratitude, and making changes in your life for the next few months. Now is the best time to create new morning rituals, to not only enhance your living but to enhance your magic as well!
What is a Morning Ritual?
A morning ritual is anything you do to get your day started. In the witchy world, a morning ritual combines mundane tasks with everyday magic practice.
Sometimes the morning is the only time we get to practice magic, with our lives being so hectic and busy.
